COVID-19 June 2020 update

Grant and Glass Opticians remained open behind the scenes during the Covid pandemic lockdown with restricted hours and services.
We were only able to do emergency triage via telephone or video call, order replacement contact lenses and repeat spectacles and minor repairs.

We are delighted to inform you that we are now
open for Routine appointments
and look forward to serving our patients.

We would like to reassure you that we have undertaken stringent measures to ensure everyone’s safety. Our staff will be wearing disposable PPE during your visit. We have put up Perspex screens and barriers in various parts of the practice and replaced some furnishings so that they are easily sanitised. We have introduced longer appointments with intervals between each patient to allow us to disinfect our equipment and the consulting room. We do ask you to please adhere to the new protocols introduced. We require you to wear a mask when visiting the practice. On arrival we will be taking your temperature. We will also expect you to please use the hand sanitizer when you arrive and whenever you are asked to during your visit. Please follow the sticker guides in the practice to ensure that you are never less than 2 metres apart from anyone else.

In the interests of protecting our patients and staff we are only allowing the patient to come in alone except in the case of a minor or a vulnerable person requiring an interpreter or carer. Please don’t bring in siblings or other family members as they will be turned away and asked to stay outside. This helps us limit the number of people on the premises at any given time thereby protecting everyone. We may ask that you wait outside if there are too many people on the premises to practice safe social distancing.

Consultations are £75 which now includes Optomap, our retinal imaging and an OCT scan. On booking an appointment you will be required to pay a £40 deposit (non-refundable) and the balance will be taken once the consultation has been carried out. We no longer accept cash or cheques. Payment can be made by debit or credit card (except American Express).
