Grant and Glass opticians was founded in 19?? By Richard Glass and Robin Grant, who remain joint chief executives of the company to this day.

Robin – a trianed optometrist – and Richard – a dispensing optician – who grew up together, realised their joint ambitions at a young age and spent much of their early careers preparing to set up their own company. Along the line they also managed to recruit Richard’s wife and fellow optometrist, Shelagh, into the business, who also still works as an optician at Grant and Glass in Radlett.

The dream started with a run down branch in Harlesdon, and over years they’ve relocated all over London, finally settling in the current practice in Radlett in ????, with a new branch due to open in Pinner in 2009. Richard and Shelagh work out of the branch in Radlett, along with their loyal team – Tess, the most recent recruit, has been with us for over 6 years now, with Sarah, one of the earliest recruits, still here, over 10 year’s later. Robin is leaving the Radlett office to set up our newest branch in Pinner.

It is this mix of friendship, family and continuity (in addition to talent, of course) that sets Grant and Glass apart from the rest. Just pop into the shop and you’ll understand why our loyal customer-base stretches across England and indeed the world.
